Mixed Martial Arts Westchester New York, Thornwood MMA

Thornwood MMA and Fitness is a legendary Mixed Martial Arts school in Westchester New York. The school has had some of the best fighters in recent history come through its doors, including Royce Gracie, Rorion Gracie, Erick Paulson, John Burke, Rob Kahn, Justin Garcia, Steve Kardian, Scotty Blasetti, Tony Gioffree and many more.

Since 1994 thousands of students from around the world have trained at this legendary studio. Steve Kardian and Tony Gioffree began thornwood after years of training with Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Grandmaster Helio Gracie and his first son Rorion Gracie. They also trained with Rickson Gracie, Relson Gracie, Royce Gracie, Royler Gracie and many other huge stars in early Braziian Ju-Jitsu. These Gracie's even trained in Tony Gioffre's garage back on the east coast. 

Thanks to Steve and Tony the Westchester New York Area was able to have a world class Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Program before the UFC even began. A few years later Rorion Gracie started the Ultimate Fighting Championship. They wanted America to see Royce Gracie as their champion since he was not a huge man. Royce defeated countless behemoths to win the first UFC championship. 

Today Thornwood MMA has both a world class gracie brazilian jiu-jitsu program and a muay thai kickboxing program. Our kickboxing program is provided by Master Ace Rimirez, a UFC trainer and all around Kru Muay Thai Master. He is by far the most technical Muay Thai instructor available to the east coast. Thanks to Thornwood MMA, Westchester County New York is able to make amazing fighters every year.
